Hi! I am a foreigner living in Lugano. I want to apply visa to Beijing for the IJCAI2013 conference.

1) Can I send my application by postal mail, or do I have to visit the embassy and apply in person? (I searched on this website but couldnot find the information).

2) A tourist visa is OK to attend the conference?

Thank you very much for your time.

Best,
Hung Ngo

Dear Sir/Madam
I am traveling to Hong Kong next week with a Swiss Passport. Do I need the passport to be valid 6 months? My passport expires on the 23rd of november so it is less than 6 months valid. In case I have to do a provisional passport would it be acceptable to enter Hong Kong?

Hello my name is Josiah and i am a New Zealand Citizen married to a Chinese citizen.
We flew from China and are currently in Switzerland.

Just so i know, what are the documents that need to be provided for the application, other than the two application forms as a foreign passport holder?
For example, an invitation letter? tickets? etc

for coming to the embassy in Bern to apply, will i need to make an appointment?
Thankyou so much.

If a Chinese student is in the UK for 4 years with a student visa, do they need another visa to visit other EU countries for holidays? If so, to which embassy do they need to apply for the additional visa (Chinese, British or country of destination)?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello (@stankovic),

I hope you are well.

I was wondering if anyone ever received an answer to stankovic's visa question above. I am in the same situation now and I’m trying to figure out the right approach. I am in Switzerland for work until the end of the month at which point I will be going to China.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
